This healthy millet stew recipe is made with millet, carrots,
potatoes, mushrooms and onions. This millet stew recipe is a
crockpot or slow cooker recipe that is perfect for busy chefs on
the go. Just slice and dice, throw the ingredients in a crockpot
and come back to a warm, healthy and nutritious meal 4 to 8
hours later.
Millet Stew Recipe.
1 cup uncooked millet
4 cup water
2 carrots, cut in chunks
2 potatoes, cut in chunks
1 cup celery, cut in chunks
2 onions, cut in wedges
1/2 lb chopped or sliced mushrooms
1/2 tsp. each basil and thyme
2 bay leaves
Toast millet in a dry skillet for a few minutes. Stir constantly
to avoid burning. Add all the ingredients to a slow cooker and
cook for 4 hours on "high" or 8 hours on "low."
